Brightwater Boat Ramp & Lake Signage Update
Councilor Christian Dickson has advised, “The Brightwater boat ramp and the associated new lake signage is due for delivery before the end of May 2016. The boat ramp has all but been completed with only the removal of a temporary gate access point to be removed before watercraft will be fully catered for on the lake. The official opening has been mooted for late May/early June and it is likely this event will include members of the BCA, NHW, Stockland and SCC.”
Christmas Movies in the Park
Brightwater celebrated Christmas 2012 with style with Christmas Movies in the Park.
Stockland organised an amazing event that was held on Saturday the 1st of December 2012 at the regional sports field this year, which was attended well into the thousands by residents, locals and visitors from afar.
The event kicked off with amazing performances of carols and dancing from local groups and the Brightwater Primary School.
There were food stalls aplenty and Santa and two of his colourful elves also made an appearance.
The movie screening on the huge inflatable screen was the hilarious Christmas comedy, starring Vince Vaughn, Fred Claus.
The night then ended with a bang in spectacular Stockland style with an epic fireworks display. The event was a huge success and the weather was perfect for the outdoor occasion!
Brightwater Billy Cart Cup
The Annual Billy cart cup hosted by Stockland was held on Sunday the 28thof October 2012.
Running again with the Halloween theme, it was a colourful day and great to see so many participate. The event was organised extremely well and Stockland did a tremendous job, improving on last years event. The opening of the new display homes was also well attended and Hotondo Homes featuring Filipo from “Masterchef” making pizzas in the wood fired pizza oven was also a popular drawcard. With the billy cart racing finishing up, it was time for the evening’s activities with the headline act being Darren Percival from “The Voice” taking centre stage. Darren was extremely charismatic and a fantastic performer and even sung a duet with a Brightwater local, Georgia Brittan, which was a highlight of the performance. The spectacular fireworks concluded the celebrations and were enjoyed by all.
The event was well attended and was a fun day and evening out for all, considering the weather was not particularly good for an outdoor event. A few noteworthy thankyou’s from your Association are firstly to Stockland for hosting and running such a successful event and for also generously donating the entry fees for the Billy Cart cup to our Association. Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers for giving their time to help make the event such a great success as well.
Brightwater Market Place and Tavern
Construction is well underway for the Brightwater Market Place and Tavern.
Pratt Property Group is developing the Brightwater shopping centre and the Brightwater Family Tavern, which is currently under construction near the Lakeside park.
The shopping centre’s anchor tenant has been advised and it has been confirmed that an ALDI supermarket will take up residency within the approximate 1,900 square metre site.
The family tavern is approximately 1,200 square metres and will have a unique and modern fit-out which will certainly enhance the Brightwater with the ultimate location fronting the beautiful lake.
Adjacent to the shopping centre will be a purpose built medical facility that will incorporate a general medical practice as well as a pharmacy, recently announced as a Chemmart Pharmacy Superstore.
The Market place and tavern will see a $20 million commercial development within the Brightwater Community.
Future tenants of the speciality stores of the Market Place include a cafe, noodle bar and beauty salon.
These facilities will allow Brightwater residents to live, work and play within Brightwater community and will provide a popular and vibrant lakeside hub for residents and visitors to the estate.
